Our Mission
Our
mission is to make disciples revealing God’s unconditional
love to all people through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our Story
The First Christian Church of Canon City was organized may
14, 1988, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Ashby, 408 River
(Royal Gorge Boulevard).
There were 27 charter members, and their mission was to
encourage all people to become followers of Jesus Christ and
nurture then in their spiritual journey with Him. A small brick building was
erected at the corner of 6th and Harrison which served as
the place of worship for nearly 20 years. In 1907 a larger
building at the corner of 7th and Harrison was erected. The present
building was erected in 1969 at 16th Street and Franklin
Avenue, with the first worship service held on September 21,
1969.
